What I collect

When you book: your name, the email address or mobile number you choose to give, whether you asked for appointment texts, the services you choose, and anything you tell me about your hair.

When you visit: what was done, the formulas and products used, what you paid and how. Card numbers are never seen or stored by this site.

If you were my client at a previous salon, your contact details and service history came with me so I can keep doing your hair the way you are used to.

If you text my appointment number, your message is saved and passed to my phone so I can answer you.

How it is used

To book, confirm and remind you about appointments, to tell you if a time changes, to take payment, and to keep a record of your hair.

Email about openings and availability goes only to people who asked for it, and every email has an unsubscribe link. Texts follow the text message terms.

Your mobile number

Your mobile number and your agreement to receive texts are never sold, and never shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.

Who helps run the site

A few services process information on my behalf, only to do their part, and are not permitted to use it for anything else:

  • Vercel hosts the website.
  • Neon stores the booking database.
  • Twilio delivers text messages.
  • Stripe processes card payments, for online deposits and payment links.
  • Google Analytics measures how people use the site: which pages are visited and how far booking gets.

Nothing is sold, and no names, emails or phone numbers are shared with Google or any advertiser.

Tracking

The public pages load Google’s tag for Google Analytics. It measures visits and the steps of booking: which pages are viewed, which services are picked, the day and hour chosen, taps on a text or call link, whether the booking went through and its estimated value. Like most web scripts, it receives your IP address, browser details and the page address, and it sets cookies so a return visit can be recognized. When you pay a deposit, my server also tells Google Analytics the booking went through and its estimated value, with no contact details. To match it to your visit, the random ID from Google Analytics’ cookie is kept with the payment at Stripe until then; if there is none, a new random ID is used instead. If you use Google’s opt-out add-on, this report is not sent.

No contact details are sent: not your name, email, phone number or notes. From the booking form, only yes-or-no answers are recorded, such as whether you asked for texts. The private links to your appointment, payment and email preferences pages are removed from every address before Google sees it. Google signals and ad personalization are switched off, so the tag does not build advertising audiences. The only other cookie keeps me signed in to my own booking calendar.

To opt out, install Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on, block cookies for this site, or use a content blocker.

Keeping and deleting it

Your record is kept while you are a client, because your color history is what makes the next appointment go right. Ask and I will delete it, apart from anything the law requires me to keep, such as payment records.
