Appointments that run to time
First and last appointments of the day in Dunedin, colour built to grow out slowly, and a booking page that tells you the real length before you commit.
If you run something or answer to a board, the problem with hair appointments is rarely the hair. It is the three hours on a Saturday, the appointment that starts twenty minutes late, and the colour that needs redoing every four weeks whether or not you have the time.
So the three things I hold myself to are these. Appointments start when they are booked to start. Your time is quoted honestly up front, including the parts where you are sitting waiting for colour to develop. And the colour I put on your hair is chosen so that six weeks later it still looks deliberate rather than overdue.
That last part is the one that saves you the most. Hand painted colour with no hard regrowth line means three or four months between full appointments instead of six weeks, and a gloss in between if you want it sharp for something specific.
If you have a board meeting, a photoshoot, a conference or a wedding, tell me the date when you book. I would rather plan backwards from it than have you turn up two days before asking for something that needs three weeks.
What I hold myself to
- It starts on time
- Booked at ten, in the chair at ten. If I am running late you get a text before you leave, not an apology when you arrive.
- You know the real number
- Time and price are quoted before you sit down, including the waiting. No conversation at the desk afterwards.
- Standing appointments
- Book the whole year in one go and hold the same slot. Far easier than negotiating with your calendar six times.
- Grow out that is not a deadline
- Colour chosen so that being three weeks late to your next appointment is invisible rather than obvious.

Questions I get asked
- What is the earliest you can see me?
- The booking calendar shows the real first appointment of each day, and it is the honest answer rather than an optimistic one. If nothing there suits, join the cancellation list and you will hear the moment something opens up.
- How long will I actually be there?
- The booking page shows the real total, not the optimistic one. A cut is about an hour. Hand painted colour is three to four hours the first time, less after that.
- I travel a lot. Can I book months ahead?
- Yes, and you should. The calendar opens well ahead and standing appointments are straightforward to set up.
- I need it to look right for something specific.
- Tell me the date when you book. Anything involving a significant colour change wants two or three weeks of margin, and a gloss the week before rather than the day before.
